Jackson Muningandu Kaujeua (1953–2010) was more than just a musician; he was the sonic heartbeat of the Namibian liberation struggle. Born in a village near Keetmanshoop, Kaujeua’s early exposure to church hymns and the soulful gospel of Mahalia Jackson led him to swap theological studies for a guitar and a mission of social justice.
During 18 years in exile, his music became a "home" for Namibians in refugee camps across Angola and Zambia. His work with the SWAPO Singers helped internationalize the fight against apartheid, making him a household name in Namibia and beyond. Essential Discography: Popular Songs to Download
