If successful, it will display the installed version of Mercurial. Open SourceTree. Go to Tools > Options (or Settings ). Click on the Mercurial tab. Select "Use System Mercurial" .

Older versions of Mercurial might not work with newer features in SourceTree.
SourceTree now includes a Mercurial Credential Manager extension. For best results, use "Embedded Mercurial" or update to Mercurial v4.3.1 or later to leverage this, as it allows credentials to be stored in the Windows Vault.
