Log in to your UniFi console via or its local IP address. Select your console from the dashboard. Click on the Settings (gear icon) on the left-hand sidebar. Navigate to the System tab. Scroll down to the Backups section. Click Download next to the most recent backup entry. Store the .unifi file in a secure location. Downloading Application-Specific Backups

💡 When downloading backups, UniFi may ask you to set a password. Do not lose this password; without it, the backup file is useless during a restore.

While Ubiquiti offers cloud backups linked to your UI Account, keeping a local copy on your computer or NAS provides an extra layer of security.

If a firmware update causes issues, you can restore to a previous stable state.
