If you previously had Chrome on your laptop, leftover "ghost" files can block a fresh install.
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Google and delete the Chrome folder if it still exists.
Navigate to Settings > Apps > Advanced app settings . Ensure "Choose where to get apps" is set to "Anywhere" .
