The official Google Drive mobile app does not feature a single "Download Folder" button due to mobile operating system limitations. However, you can achieve the same result using the offline feature or by selecting all files inside the folder. Method A: Make Folder Available Offline (Recommended)
A progress bar will appear in the bottom-right corner showing "Preparing download (Zipping)."
Windows built-in Extraction Wizard often fails to unzip archives with long file pathways or special characters.
Closing the Google Drive tab or losing internet connection during the "Zipping" phase will cancel the download entirely.
Open your system's file explorer ( on Windows or Finder on Mac). Locate the virtual Google Drive disk drive in your sidebar.
If you need the actual files saved directly to your phone's local storage or Files app: Open the target folder inside the Google Drive app. Long-press on the first file to activate selection mode.
Downloading an entire folder from Google Drive is the fastest way to back up your files, migrate data, or work offline. While Google Drive makes sharing easy, downloading large directories can sometimes trigger compression errors or stalled zipping processes.
