Formed in Melbourne in 1989, Max Q was a sharp departure from the polished pop-rock of INXS. Hutchence teamed up with Ollie Olsen, whom he met while filming the movie Dogs in Space . The project was an underground-leaning collaboration that blended synth-pop, house, and industrial rock.
