Designed by Diane Allen, the 350Z moved away from the complex twin-turbo setups of its predecessor in favor of a simpler, more focused platform.

The (internal code Z33) is widely regarded as the car that saved the "Z" lineage, reviving Nissan's sports car heritage after a six-year hiatus following the discontinuation of the 300ZX.
