Flashing erases all user directories. Complete these preparation steps to prevent permanent device failure:

If the phone hangs during bootup, boot into the stock recovery menu by holding down the Power + Volume Up keys simultaneously. Once inside, execute a Wipe Data / Factory Reset cycle.
Hold down either the or Volume Up button to trigger boot mode, then connect the phone to your PC via a USB cable.
This error happens when you try to write incompatible firmware. Make sure you are flashing an authentic firmware file made specifically for the MTK6580A processor variant of the phone.
Back up all contacts, media files, and local documents. Flashing overwrites the entire flash memory partition map.
