Rolling back is often necessary when a new update breaks essential mods, introduces game-breaking bugs, or significantly impacts performance. Method 1: The Official "Beta" Branch (Easiest)

To download a specific version, you need three IDs found on SteamDB: : The unique ID for the game itself.

To rollback a Steam download or revert a game to a previous version, you generally have two main paths: using official "Beta" branches provided by developers or using the more advanced "Steam Console" method to download specific archived files.

If the developer doesn't provide a Beta branch, you can manually download previous manifests using the hidden Steam Console. Step 1: Gather Information from SteamDB

: The ID for the specific part of the game (e.g., the Windows content).

: Click the dropdown menu under Beta Participation . If the developer supports rollbacks, you will see a list of older version numbers (e.g., temporary_1_50 ).

: The ID for the specific version/patch timestamp you want to revert to. Step 2: Access the Steam Console Guide: How to download older versions of a game on Steam

: Navigate to the Betas tab on the left sidebar.
