Step ((top)) Download Timeout (120 Seconds) Has Expired When ((top)) Downloading Resource Loadrunner <DELUXE - 2024>

If the database is locked or the application server has run out of threads, it won't respond to the LoadRunner request.

If a tracking pixel or a font file from an external CDN is timing out, it can fail your whole transaction.

This error indicates that a specific request—usually an image, JavaScript file, CSS, or a heavy API call—failed to complete within the default time limit. While the default is 120 seconds, simply increasing the timer isn't always the right solution.

Increase the "Step download timeout" in Runtime Settings if the file is naturally large. Monitor: Check Load Generator and Server health.

The error "timeout expired" is often a polite way of saying the server is overwhelmed.

Check your server logs (IIS, Apache, Tomcat) and Database performance during the time of the error. Look for "Longest Transaction" times in your LoadRunner Analysis report. 4. Scripting & Snapshot Issues

web_add_filter("Action=Exclude", "URL=http://externalsite.com", LAST); Use code with caution. 5. Check for Proxy or Firewall Interference

High latency between the Load Generator and the Server can cause packets to drop or arrive too slowly, triggering the timeout.
